Where do the Opportunity Atlas records come from?

Opportunity Atlas organizes Florida public business information into county-level Foundation Raw Data Packs. The package listing is the source of truth for its county, included fields, approximate count, status, formats, and price. These are public-record research inputs, not a private CRM, a real-time system of record, or an independent certification of every row.

How fresh are the records, and what do last-updated values and counts mean?

Accepted Answer

When a product supplies a last-updated value, Opportunity Atlas displays it as part of the package context. If it shows “Unknown / Not supplied,” the timestamp was not supplied in the product data. Counts are approximate where labeled, not a live inventory or a guarantee of the number of usable records on a particular day. Validate time-sensitive details before acting.

How are the CSV and PDF files used?

Accepted Answer

The current Foundation catalog lists CSV + PDF. CSV is the working format for filtering, sorting, comparing, and importing rows. PDF is the readable format for review, sharing, or keeping a fixed reference. Check the individual listing for the delivery details of that package.

Question 4

What do the status and audit labels mean?

Accepted Answer

“Product Ready” means the catalog marks a package ready for purchase. “STAGING / Coming soon” means it is not presented as ready. “Unknown / Not supplied” means no audit status was supplied in the product data. These labels describe catalog state; they do not certify completeness, legal status, current operation, or suitability of every business record.

What does a county listing cover—and what does it not cover?

A listing is scoped to the county named in its product definition and to the fields shown on that listing. It does not imply statewide coverage, real-time coverage, complete coverage of every business, or coverage of fields that are not listed. County and jurisdiction practices can affect how records are supplied and formatted.

What does “Raw Data” include and exclude?

The current Foundation field list includes Business Name, City, County, Industry, Address, Public Phone, Public Email, and Website when those values are supplied. Raw Data is source-first and organized for search, comparison, and export; it does not promise enrichment, verification, scoring, exclusivity, or a decision-ready intelligence layer. “Unknown / Not supplied” means the catalog does not supply that value.

Question 7

How should I interpret stale, incomplete, duplicated, unknown, or jurisdiction-specific records?

Accepted Answer

Treat the Atlas as a dated research input, not as a guarantee that every row is current or unique. Records may be stale, incomplete, duplicated, or formatted differently across jurisdictions. An unknown value means “not supplied,” not “verified absent.” Confirm important details with the relevant source or business before making a consequential decision.
